Dr. Ara Tavitian
Chief Executive Officer

Ara Tavitian, M.D. is President and Chief Executive Officer and a founding member of Vista HealthCare LLC. He is responsible for the strategic priorities and operational integrity of the firm, including quality of care initiatives, public affairs, and development. Reporting to Dr. Tavitian are three senior vice presidents in operations, development and finance. He holds degrees in both economics and medicine from the University of Southern California (USC). Furthermore, he completed his residency at USC, Los Angeles County Hospital, and subsequently his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of California, Davis / Martinez VA Program. He is currently board certified in internal medicine.

Dr. Tavitian has been an active and successful healthcare entrepreneur throughout his professional career. Prior to Vista, Dr. Tavitian founded an IPA with 350 physician members, opened an ambulatory surgery center and established numerous urgent care centers, while also leading a medical practice in gastroenterology that he expanded into a multi-specialty medical group. Dr. Tavitian has held medical staff leadership positions in community hospitals and was an appointed commissioner of the Los Angeles County Hospitals and Health Care Delivery Commission.
